Tentative Programme
Session 1 - Mind the Gap
Huge disparity often arises in the assessment of damages between two parties' experts,which leave the tribunals a difficult job to determine an appropriate amount to award.Based on the results of a recent research conducted, PwC will explore the reasons behind the differences between experts, choice of methodologies, and the measures that can be taken to bridge the gap. The presentation will be followed by a case study in which the audience will be asked to identify solutions to close the gap between the experts.
Session 2 - Being Technology Enabled
Part of the expert's role should be to help courts and tribunals deal with volume and complexity of information in today's cases. PwC will explore the best of use of data analytics and other technologies and tools in analysing the issues. The presentation will be followed by providing the audience a hands-on experience in some of the tools.
Session 3 - Hear from the Experts
This is a moderated panel discussion which comprises a team of expert forensic accountants, valuers and economists, to share their experience on various technical subjects, including quantification of damages, valuation in company's privatisation, antitrust disputes, etc. The panel will then be taking questions from the audience.
